Watching 4 measures behind the plan

  • Harmonised packaging labels, PPWR Article 12(6)

The Commission now plans to adopt the label act, due by 12 August 2026, in late 2026. Rechecked, labels apply later than 12 August 2028.

    Status: To review
  • Recycled content rules, PPWR Article 7(8)

  • Design for recycling criteria, PPWR Article 6(4)

  • Dangerous goods by road, Directive 2008/68/EC

What we need from you

Four things, shared at setup before the project starts.

  1. Your packaging

Your packaging formats with their specifications, or your products and what each one is packed in.

  2. Your markets

The EU countries you sell in, and where you plan to sell next.

  3. Your supplier evidence

What your packaging suppliers have sent so far, such as declarations, specifications and test reports.

  4. Your approver

The person who agrees the requirement map and approves the plan.

What teams ask about this project

How do you decide what applies to each format?

Each requirement has its own scope. Recycled content targets reach only plastic parts, and not packaging that carries dangerous goods. The sorting label skips transport packaging, such as pallet wrap. Foresight reads each format against each article, along with what the format carries, from your product data.

Where does the evidence come from?

From the Regulation itself, the Commission’s notices and FAQ, and your suppliers. Every requirement links to its source, so your team can check the wording directly, and each supplier declaration or test report sits with the requirement it supports.

Who provides the evidence for packaging we buy in?

Whoever the Regulation makes its manufacturer. Packaging that carries your name or trademark is yours, so your suppliers send the test reports and figures for your technical documentation. Unbranded packaging bought ready to use, such as stretch wrap on a roll, is normally its maker’s, so the map shows that supplier as the one who owes the evidence.

Who checks the plan before we use it?

The person you name. They agree the formats and requirements before any mapping starts, and check each one against its source at the end. Nothing is final until they approve it. These checks reduce the risk of error without removing it.

What happens when a rule changes?

Several PPWR dates hang on Commission acts still to come, such as the label act. When one is adopted or a date moves, Foresight rechecks the requirements it affects. The plan your expert approved stays as it is until they accept the change.

What does it cost?

The price follows the programme’s size: how many formats and markets it covers. You see it with the scope, before any mapping starts.
