UK REACH Restriction For Tattoo Inks And Permanent Make-Up
The UK government proposes a UK REACH restriction for tattoo inks and permanent make-up, tightening limits and labelling with phased transition periods.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced key deadlines for companies to participate in the GB Biocides Review Programme, urging industry players to act promptly to retain their active substances' market access.
The HSE's open invitations focus on two active substances for product type 11:
DCDMH: Reaction products of 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, 5-ethyl-5-methylhydantoin with bromine and chlorine.DCEMH: Reaction products of 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, 5-ethyl-5-methylhydantoin with chlorine (CAS: 89415-87-2).
These open invitations, stemming from a withdrawal by the previous participant, Innovative Water Care LTD, allow new entities to step in and maintain these substances in the GB Review Programme.
Entities that successfully notify by February must submit comprehensive dossiers to HSE by this deadline to avoid non-approval decisions for:
Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium extract for product types 18 and 19 (CAS: 89997-63-7).
Non-compliance will result in the substances being barred from biocidal products and treated articles in Great Britain.
Failure to meet these deadlines will lead to non-approval decisions. This entails a prohibition on the use of affected substances in biocidal products and treated articles, impacting market access significantly.
Companies are advised to:
Submit notifications before February 15, 2025.Ensure dossier completion by May 23, 2025.
