The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced significant information regarding biocides regulation in Great Britain (GB), separate from the European Union's framework. With upcoming deadlines and expiry dates, stakeholders in the biocides market should take note to ensure compliance.
Under the GB BPR, an open invitation has been issued to signal intent to participate in the GB Review Programme for specific active substance/product type combinations. Stakeholders wishing to maintain a particular biocide in the GB market must meet the notification deadline below:
Lack of notification by the deadline will result in a non-approval decision, requiring the removal of products containing the relevant active substances from the GB market. Stakeholders should submit a notification promptly to avoid market disruptions.
Several biocidal active substances are due to expire under the GB BPR on the following dates. Products containing these substances must be phased out from the GB market:
Authorities will liaise with stakeholders holding current authorisations or approvals to discuss cancellation or revocation. Affected parties are urged to contact HSE regarding potential negative impacts.
