🌍 Diuron’s Environmental Impact Confirmed by Finnish Safety Agency

The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) has confirmed Diuron’s significant environmental risks, particularly its potential for endocrine disruption and water pollution. Diuron is persistent, bioaccumulative, and poses pollution threats to ground and surface waters. Tukes proposes regulatory actions, including harmonised classification and possible inclusion as a substance of very high concern (SVHC). 🛑 EU Seeks Input on Dechlorane Plus Regulation

The European Commission is inviting feedback on a draft regulation to include dechlorane plus in Annex A of the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). The regulation proposes restricting or prohibiting its use, with certain exemptions until 2030. Stakeholders can provide input until 24 July 2024.
